Set among the aspens above the second fairway, Red Cloud Retreat is a personal sanctuary where vernacular forms, natural materials, and the land itself shape a contemporary expression of the American West.
Designed as Tommy Hein’s personal home and sanctuary, Red Cloud Retreat draws from the quiet strength of rural western compounds. Tucked among aspen groves above the second fairway, the home is carefully nestled into the land—positioned for light, views, and shelter from the wind.
Barn-inspired forms, a detached garage, and sloping geometries echo the region’s agricultural heritage, creating a composition that feels both grounded and dynamic. A palette of rusted metal, reclaimed wood, native stone, and glass reflects a deep respect for tradition while embracing a contemporary western spirit. Rooted in place and attuned to its surroundings, this is a home shaped not only by the land—but by a lifelong connection to it.
