Rooted in Telluride’s mining past, Liberty Bell weaves original stonework with modest new forms to create a home that’s enduring, grounded, and shaped by the land.
Nestled within the Idarado Legacy Subdivision, Liberty Bell is a reimagining of a site rooted in Telluride’s historic past. The original stone house remains the heart of the property—its presence preserved and thoughtfully integrated into the new design. Additions step gently with the land, set back to frame views of Ajax and Ingram Peaks while minimizing impact on the surrounding context.
The architecture draws from Telluride’s mining vernacular: compact forms, sloped roofs, and a palette of board-formed concrete, Telluride Gold stone, rusted steel, and barnwood. A new western wing gathers kitchen, dining, and wellness spaces, while the former garage becomes a quiet primary suite, linked by a series of decks and terraces. The result is a layered composition—modest, enduring, and grounded in place.
